18 months ago, I decided to try making some handmade candles for my mom. I drove to the local craft store and purchased a 1-lb bag of wax and some small bottles of essential oils. I can still remember the fragrance of the first candle I ever made (lemon & lavender, her favorite). I quickly caught the 'candle fever' and began experimenting with the wax.
Rather quickly, my 'hobby' had turned into a full-time job and I was making handmade soy candles for my customers in Nashville, TN. I added wax melts to our website, and the response was overwhelming. Realizing that wax tarts were becoming more and more popular while staying relatively mediocre-looking, I decided to get in touch with my creative side. I spent months researching scent formulas, experimenting with new wax blends, and even took an online course for chocolatiers to learn new techniques. After months of research, wax burns, and extreme caffeination:
Waxpops was born.
