How to Use Wood Wick Candles

How to Use Wood Wick Candles
We believe that candles should crackle,
plain and simple.

That's why we use double-ply, medium-flame, crackling wooden wicks. These wonderful crackling wicks make each candle sound like a mini fireplace. Transform the scent and sound of your space with a crackling wood wick candle.

Wood wick candles function differently than traditional cotton wick candles. Here are some ways to properly care for your candle.

Tip #1: Keep the wick short.

Wood wicks prefer to be short. Trim the wick before your first burn. Upon your second burn, use the back of a lighter or butter knife to knock off the burnt bits of the wick, then light! If the wick is too long, it cannot absorb the wax and burn properly. Most problems with wood wick candles can be solved by trimming the wick!

Tip #2: Burn in 2-4 hour increments.

The candle should burn for a minimum of 60 minutes so that the wax can fully melt around the jar. If the wax melts unevenly, it will create an uneven wax pool that can drown the wick. To preserve longevity of scent in the candle, do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time.

Tip #3: Keep out of reach of kids & pets.

Unlike our flameless wax melts, these candles have an exposed flame when in use.
