Wondering how often you should change the wax melts in your wax burner? We have a step-by-step guide for answering this question.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I SHOULD CHANGE MY MELTS?
The simple answer:
Change your melts when you can no longer smell the fragrance when your wax warmer is 'on'.
'I've been burning my wax melts for 2 weeks and the wax is still in my warmer. Why should I change my melts if the wax is still there?'
While the fragrance in your wax melts will burn into the air, the warmer doesn't get hot enough to burn the wax into the air. This means that eventually- your warmer will have leftover unscented wax in it.
Since the wax will not burn, it can be confusing to know when to change your wax melts. Here's our best tip to know when the fragrance has completely evaporated: leave the room with the wax burner 'on' and re-enter it 2-3 minutes later. If you can smell the fragrance, then you don't need to change your melts. If you can no longer detect the fragrance, it's time to change your melts!
Leave the room with the wax burner 'on' and see if you can smell the wax when you walk back into the room.
HOW MANY HOURS CAN I USE MY WAX MELTS?
It depends on which brand of wax melts you use.
Some wax melts have 4-6 hours of scent in each melt- which means that you'll need to change the fragrance after a day or so.
Some wax melts have 6-10 hours of scent in each melt- which means that you'll have to change the fragrance once every few days.
Some wax melts have 15-20 hours of scent in each melt- which means that you'll have to change the fragrance about once a week.
